Celebrating 2025 Graduates

As the 2025 school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate three members of the Mano en Mano community and Migrant Education Program who have graduated this spring.


Juan Carlos Hernandez Mejia graduated this spring from Scarborough High School. He will be working and attending college this coming year.

Reflecting back on your time in high school, what is the accomplishment you are most proud of?

I am proud of learning a new language. I think it has been an amazing experience for me!

What is your favorite memory of the MEP program or Mano en Mano?

I really enjoyed going to visit new school and college tours. Thanks for all your help

What are you most looking forward to after high school/college?

I am looking forward to find something I like and continuing to strive to achieve new goals.

Is there anyone you would like to add?

Thank you to everyone who has supported me all 4 years of High School. I am very grateful to everyone at Mano en Mano and to all of my family. Thank you


Raquel Mendez graduated from the Wayfinder Schools this spring, and is excited for more adventures and to continue furthering her education in the coming year.

Reflecting back on your time in high school, what is the accomplishment you are most proud of?

I am most proud of learning being there for my siblings and keeping my family connected.

What is your favorite memory of the MEP program or Mano en Mano?

I really enjoyed the fall activities- pumpkin carving and picking our mums for all of us was very fun

What are you most looking forward to after high school/college?

I am looking forward to spending time with my family.

Is there anyone you would like to add?

I want to say, Thank you to my siblings, family and friends.

I am most proud of finishing High School and looking back on all that I learned. I think it was great achievement for me.

What is your favorite memory of the MEP program or Mano en Mano?

I feel like I got do do a lot of new things and discover new ideas. Its really wonderful.

What are you most looking forward to after high school/college?

I am excited about starting to work and achieve the goals I want

I am grateful to my family and teachers. Also- thanks to Eva for all of your help!
