Mano en Mano is gearing up for our Welcome & Resource Center - a temporary center where we welcome back migrant wreath workers and connect them to resources and services, such as food donations, winter clothing, mobile healthcare or legal assistance. The center will be open 2-8pm from October 22-26 in Columbia Falls and 2-8pm on November 6th in Machias.
Looking for a way to get involved? Join our volunteer orientation call tomorrow! On Wednesday 10/17 at 6:30pm we will be hosting a virtual call (info below) to go over the plan for our center, when we could use volunteer support, what to expect, and what we expect of volunteers working in communities that may be different than their own.
If you can't volunteer at the center, there are other ways to get involved! We are still collecting clothing donations and looking for volunteers to cook or sponsor a dish for our community dinner on Thursday 10/25. If you are interested but can't make the call or have any questions, please call Christina Ocampo at 207-745-5539.
Your donation today will help us meet the needs of wreath workers this season and continue to make Downeast Maine a welcoming place for seasonal farmworkers and immigrants. We truly appreciate your support.
