On Tuesday, November 20th, Mano en Mano was delighted to host a traditional American Thanksgiving during our Drop-in English class. We were particularly happy to serve our area’s wreath workers and their families, who stopped by to attend the portable clinic held by Maine Migrant Health in our parking lot. With over 35 people in attendance, it was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to have their health needs addressed and receive a warm meal all in one night!
With two turkeys, 3 dishes of mashed potatoes, bowls upon bowls of cranberry sauce, delicious rice, heaps of rolls, vegetables, and pie after pie, there was certainly no shortage of food. Kids also had a good time making hand turkeys and learning to say “Gobble gobble!”
We would like to give special thanks to Lupe Yepes and Susan Morrill and her family for helping to make this night a success, as well as our Outreach Worker Edith, who helped to coordinate the Maine Migrant Health clinic on the same night. A good time was had by all!
