Young Spring Scientists
This Spring the project Comienza en Casa | It Starts at Home is teeming with young scientists! Six families with children between the ages of 3 and 5 are participating in the early education program funded by the Maine Migrant Education Program, which incorporates traditional early learning activities and the iPad in a home setting.
During the month of March families studied different early science concepts which included learning about using tools like magnifying glasses and rulers to make observations, and included the five senses and how water can change form. Families conducted many experiments over the course of the month using the iPads they had at home to document their work and create books about the different discoveries they made. Later this month program coordinator Ana Blagojevic and Education Consultant Bonnie Blagojevic will be presenting about the program and the wonderful work families have done at the National Migrant Education Conference in Orlando FL.
